Out of Position

Here is the cover I did a few weeks ago for Kyell Gold's new novel, Out of Position! I also did the interior illustrations and the chapter heads.

These are a few of the nine interior illustrations from the book:

And this is a joke banner for a website, featured during the Superbowl weekend, and features one of the main characters from Out of Position.

If you like, you can read some of the first chapters of the book on Kyell Gold's website, over yonder!

MidfurX Shirt

Here's one of the things that's been keeping me busy this last week... It's a shirt design for MidFurX (Australia's largest furry convention.)

I think I found something even more tedious than watching paint dry! Vector stippling!

Ixchel

I actually started this piece months ago. I put masking fluid down over the jaguar, then proceeded to attempt to paint the sky. About 15 attempts and 15 layers of acrylic later, I gave up and set the piece aside.
The other day, I found the discarded piece and I figured I'd take one last stab at the sky. Perhaps time made me a bit less picky, but I figured it the newest coat looked alright. So, I took off the masking fluid that lay underneath all that paint. I had completely forgotten the subject of the painting, so imagine my surprise when there was a boob.

FWA Back Cover

Another piece I guess I never uploaded (I suspect it's safe to now, as DragonCon has come and gone.)

This was commissioned back in July by the folks of FWA for use on the interior cover adspace in DragonCon's convention book.
FWA's theme this year is Safari, so I figure... what would furries go see on safari? ;]

I was sort of hired on last minute and only had a couple of days to get the piece done. I wish I could have had a bit more time to work on it, but, I say that about most things.

Remember How We Were

I was cleaning out my backpack for traveling to EuroFurence yesterday and found this ancient painting I had done and then promptly forgot about. I started it about a year ago I suppose, so it looks a little dated to me, but I like the lioness' face.
I touched up a couple of things and figured I'd post it. :]

I Like You

"If I was a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee.
And if I was a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves"

Dog's Days Camp Shirt

Hullo you crazy cats and kittens! Did you want to hear about winning free stuff?

I've been working on a few projects over the last few weeks. First and foremost of course is finishing up coloring the Dog's Days comic. It's slow going but looks pretty swanky. While I've still got that on my plate, I've also conspired with the Sofawolf crew to put together a fabo Hawaiian-style shirt, alla Dog's Days.

For more information about the shirt itself
, check out Sofawolf's catalog page on the subject, here!

The shirts are professionally printed, the pattern was designed by me and it'll be sold through Sofawolf!
Pre-orders will start April 15th--but!--right now you can enter to win your very own Dog's Days Hawaiian shirt, for free!

These ain't no t-shirts, folks. They're cotton, comfy, color safe and very durable!
There's only a small number of these shirts being printed--regular pre-orders will start April 15th, but don't miss this chance!
The winner has the option of picking up their shirt at AnthroCon '08 (with proper ID, of course) or having it mailed to them the first week of July.

You've got until Midnight, April 12th to send in your entries!
To boomerale@gmail.com, send your name and your shirt size! (S / M / L / XL / XXL / XXXL )
(Tip: Most people like a Hawaiian style shirt to be +one more than the usual size they wear.)

We'll pull a random email from the batch and if you win, we'll get back to you and hammer out the details!
The winner will be announced April 14th!
Multiple entries from the same email address will be disqualified, so limited yourself to just one!
Good luck to everyone who enters!

That email again is: boomerale@gmail.com !
Don't forget to include your shirt size!

Cheers!

Is It June Yet?

I'm still engaged in the slow process of coloring the finale to the Dog's Days comic.
But the good news is, it will be done and ready for June! Diego will have to get off his fluffy ass and do something...or someone. >;]

Sofawolf Press will be publishing the entire comic, plus all the concept art, to debut at AnthroCon this summer! :]

Also, I put all the so-far pages of the comic up online in an easy to read fasion, here (site is still bare-bones):
www.dogsdaysofsummer.com

Also, here are the images for the winners of the postcard give-away I did! (And all of them arrived to their new owners in good shape!) Names and addresses were changed for the online versions.
